The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesi\u0107, signed with the representatives of six local self-governments contracts on the allocation of grants for the implementation of projects within the LIID Project in the total value of 9.2 million euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grant agreements with the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure were signed today by the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milan \u0110uri\u0107, for the project of reconstruction and arrangement of Futo\u0161ki Park, with a total value of 3.8 million euros; the President of the Municipality Kula, Damjan Miljani\u0107, for the project of building a fountain in the park in Kula and arranging the park with a part of \u0110ura Strugara and Mar\u0161ala Tito streets, with a total value of 1.3 million euros; the President of the Municipality of Svrljig, Miroslav Markovi\u0107, for the project of reconstruction of the wharf of the river Svrljig Timok, worth 1.05 million euros; the President of the Municipality Svilajnac, Predrag Milanovi\u0107 for the project of ground-level landscaping with accompanying installations in the villages of Dublje, Grabovac, Ku\u0161iljevo, Lukovica and Sedlare, worth 736 thousand euros; Titel Municipality President Dragan Bo\u017ei\u0107 for the project of installing energy-efficient light sources in the public lighting system on the territory of Titel Municipality, worth 1.1 million euros, and Po\u017eega Municipality President \u0110or\u0111e Nikitovi\u0107 for the landslide rehabilitation and reconstruction of Bana Milutina Street project, worth 1.1 million euros .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The LIID program, jointly implemented by the Ministry, the World Bank and the French Development Agency, is aimed at the development of local infrastructure and the institutional strengthening of local self-government units, and as part of the program, a total of 265 million euros will be allocated to local self-government units on the territory of the Republic of Serbia over the next five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the contract signing ceremony in the City Hall in Novi Sad, Vesi\u0107 said that LIID is a project that has a unique impact on improving the quality of life of Serbian citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“There is not a single project that involved local governments in this way in the process of solving problems that exist in their communities.” The improvement of infrastructure, the arrangement of public areas and the promotion of urban mobility directly contribute to a better life for each of our citizens. This program follows our policy to make every place in Serbia a better place for people to live,” said Vesi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stated that the LIID project is significant because it will be implemented in 145 local communities in our country, which will receive grants to solve problems that are often not a priority at the local level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“These projects represent the best examples of everything we strive for in building the future of Serbia, namely sustainable local development and continuous work on the reconstruction and construction of infrastructure as a key factor in the growth of the standard of living of our citizens,” said Vesi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“With our colleagues from the World Bank and the French Development Agency, we are trying to make the procedure as fast as possible and to approve new funds for new projects in the shortest possible time.” Everything we have implemented so far, as well as everything we will, without a doubt, successfully implement in the years ahead, is proof that together with our partners we can make Serbia a perfect place for our citizens to live,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mayor of Novi Sad, Milan \u0110uri\u0107, thanked the line ministry, the World Bank, the French Development Agency and the entire team working on the LIID Project and pointed out that Novi Sad, through the LIID Project, has the opportunity to use a fund of 5.5 million euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u0110uri\u0107 stated that by signing today’s Grant Agreement, Novi Sad will receive significant financial resources for the project “Reconstruction and improvement of Futo\u0161ki Park in Novi Sad”, which was provided by the relevant Ministry through the LIID Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Last year, at the end of June, we signed the Framework Agreement on the implementation of this project, which was an introduction to today’s realization of it. The investment value of arranging one of the most beautiful parks in Novi Sad is 448 million dinars, which is almost half a billion dinars,” said \u0110uri\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He reminded that the Futoski Park was formed in the first decade of the 19th century, has an area of \u200b\u200babout 10 hectares and has been under protection since 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
